With the continuous development of the filter press industry, in order to meet higher market demands, the types of filter presses are increasing. At present, the common types of filter presses in production include chamber filter press, diaphragm filter press, plate and frame filter press, etc. Different filter press types have different performance characteristics and operating modes. Therefore, enterprises should understand the characteristics of various types of filter presses when selecting filter press types, so as to facilitate better production needs. Today we mainly talk about the difference between a diaphragm filter press and a chamber filter press. To understand the difference between a chamber filter press and a diaphragm filter press, let's first understand the main composition and filtration principle of the filter press.

filter press

The composition of the filter press:

The main body of the filter press is composed of a frame, a beam, a hydraulic cylinder, and a set of filter plates (covered by filter cloth).

The filtering principle of the filter press:

1. The hydraulic cylinder pushes the filter plates to compress them, forming a closed filter chamber between the filter plates. The sludge is driven into these filter chambers by the feeding pump and dehydrated under the action of pressure.

2. Through the hydraulic cylinder, the hydraulic component maintains the balance between the feed pressure and the filter plate pressing force.

3. Under such pressure, the filtrate flows out through the pores of the filter cloth, and the solid particles remain on the surface of the filter cloth.

4. The filtrate finally flows out through the water nozzles on both sides of the filter plate, or flows out from the flange port at the end of the filter press.

5. The filter cake is formed in the filter chamber.

6. When the effluent of the filtrate gradually decreases, the filter cake is fully formed between the filter chambers, the hydraulic cylinder is loosened, the filter plates are pulled apart from one by one, and the filter cake falls from the filter plates.

7. The filter plate opening form is divided into a manual, automatic single block, automatic multi-block, one-time opening, etc.

The difference between chamber filter press and diaphragm filter press:

Different filter plate structures: two kinds of filter plates used in chamber filter press are staggered and spliced, one solid filter plate and one frame filter plate. The diaphragm filter press uses two different filter plates, one is a solid filter plate and the other is a hollow filter plate, and the filter plate used in the diaphragm filter press has a diaphragm cavity on both sides.

Different filter cloth styles: the chamber filter press filter cloth is a square filter cloth, and its shape is completely different from the previous two types of equipment. The diaphragm filter press uses two filter cloths connected in the middle to form a single filter cloth.

The filter cavity is formed differently: the chamber filter press requires two solid filter plates plus a frame filter plate, while the diaphragm filter press uses a solid filter plate and a hollow filter plate.

How to choose chamber filter press and diaphragm filter press: The two types of filter press have their own characteristics in actual production and should be selected according to the actual needs of customers. I believe that the introduction of the difference between diaphragm filter press and chamber filter press, it can better help enterprises choose the type of filter press. Choosing the right filter press can improve the production efficiency of the enterprise and better play the performance role of the filter press.
