Avianca is the national carrier of Colombia and has an extensive route network with flights connecting North and South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. When to Check-In

At least one hour before your scheduled flight is set to depart, you should be checking in with Avianca. The avianca check in process is easy to follow: go to their website, choose your flights from their manage my reservation tab, print out your itinerary from the my trips tab on their website and bring it to the airport with you. To save time when going through security, make sure that all liquids are in containers that are 100 milliliters or less (including baby formula), but can contain more than 3.4 ounces if they're stored as an aerosol or gel product.

What You Need for Check-In

Checking in with Avianca is easy, but there are a few things you need to know before you go:

1. If you are checking in at the airport, you will need your printed boarding pass as well as a valid ID (e.g., passport).
2. If you're checking in online or via the mobile app, don't forget that your passport information is required for international flights and your government issued ID is required for domestic flights. 3. You can complete the check in process up to 24 hours before departure time, which means if you want to save some time at the airport, this is a great option!
3. And finally, no matter what method of check-in you choose, it's important not to leave any belongings unattended while completing your check in requirements because they will be confiscated by security if left unattended.

Boarding Passes

Travelers must present at the check-in desk and the boarding gate before the scheduled departure. When checking in online, you can choose your seat preferences for a fee of $25 USD per ticket. If checked in at an airport, this option is not available. If a flight does not have any empty seats that match the preferences, then it will be changed to an open seat during the boarding process. To purchase more than one seat when you purchase your ticket on avianca check in online, log out of your account after completing payment and select My Tickets tab. Select Book additional tickets. Then enter passenger information including name and credit card number.

Checking In Online or Via Mobile App

Passengers are required to provide a government issued ID and proof of citizenship upon request in order to board their flight. Avianca uses computerized kiosks to speed up the process. If a passenger has a paperless ticket, they will be given an Electronic Boarding Pass (EBP) that can be scanned from an eligible device when it's time for boarding.

Travelers must present at the check-in desk and the boarding gate before the scheduled departure. If you are checking in from home with your computer or mobile device, there is no need to print out your boarding pass as it will be emailed directly to you. If you are checking in on site with your computer or mobile device, you will need to print out your ticket.

Checking In Over the Phone

According to this policy, travelers must present at the check-in desk and the boarding gate before the scheduled departure. Travelers who have checked in for their flight with a kiosk or mobile device will not be required to present again for security clearance if they do not go through security screening.
